Night Night Farm Children’s Book + Giveaway

My children are fascinated with farm animals.  They could watch them all day and copy the sounds they make.  Naturally, when choosing a book to review from Tommy Nelson this month, I felt like Night Night Farm was a perfect bedtime story for them.

One Big Turkey Children’s Book + Giveaway

Disclosure: I wrote this review of One Big Turkey on behalf of Tommy Nelson.  All opinions are my own.

One of my son’s favorite stories is One Spring Lamb written by Anne Vittur Kennedy.  She has a new book out that is similar, except it’s related to fall and Thanksgiving.  I can’t tell you how many times we’ve read this book over and over.  Little M is definitely thrilled to have another book like his favorite because enjoys counting so much. This one is called One Big Turkey and it’s been a big hit.

One Big Turkey

About One Big Turkey

You can count your blessings with your child as you read along together with One Big Turkey. The beautiful, board book makes counting an enjoyable learning experience. The rhyming text will take you and your child on a fun, Thanksgiving adventure.

About the Author

Anne Vittur Kennedy loves the quiet space of her studio and lives in Ohio with her husband, Jack; her dog, Brody; and her horses, Sitka and Frisco.  Similar books she has written, include One Shining Star (perfect for the Christmas season) and One Spring Lamb (related to Easter).

My Thoughts

Even though the book is geared towards children 0-4 years old, there are many sight words that my 5-year-old picked up on.  This book is perfect for the upcoming Thanksgiving season. I love that it’s a board book.  It makes it very hard for my kids to accidentally (or on purpose) rip the cover or pages. You can purchase the same book we received for $8.99 at Faith Gateway Store.

Baby, Baby! Children’s Book + Giveaway

Disclosure:  I wrote this post on behalf of Propeller Consulting.  All opinions are my own.

My husband and I decided long ago that we only wanted two children.  As my littles start to grow out of the baby stages and move into independence, sometimes I get a bit sad.  As the cliche goes, they grow up so fast.  I miss the baby snuggles, tiny clothes and watching them master new skills.  But the things I don’t miss, is the cries (from both me and baby) and the sleepless nights.  We are very blessed, because we will have a sweet, baby niece soon.  I can’t wait to love on, snuggle her and read to her.  I’m looking forward to giving her a new book called Baby, Baby! written by Diane Stortz.

About Baby, Baby!

Baby, Baby! is a sweet, colorful board book that appeals to their interests, such as looking at books, other babies and their flowering abilities.  This short, rhyming poem applies all three in a sweet and happy way, while introducing baby to God’s love for them.  The simple words are paired with colorful images of babies engaging in familiar activities.  And it ends with a reminder that baby is always loved by God.

My Thoughts

The illustrator, Allie Busby, did a fantastic job with creating a diversity of babies throughout the book.  The mirror at the end of the book makes it personalized as well.  This is a fun and captivating book, that perfectly describes God’s love for your baby.  You can purchase Baby, Baby on Amazon for $7.99.

Seven Years with This Guy

It’s been seven years since we stood over 10,000 feet high, in front of God’s beautiful mountain canvas, to say “I do!” And it’s been a breeze ever since.  I’m totally kidding.  As any married couple can attest to, marriage is hard work.  I mean, as individuals, we are constantly growing and changing in all areas of our life.  And it’s the same for couples.

Seven Years

I look back and think about who I was seven years ago.  I felt excited for our future but I could have never imagined what our story would look like.  We’ve had so many blessings, challenges, changes and moves.  Each of which has helped me to grow closer to my husband, but also has drawn me closer to Christ.

I just want to brag on my husband for a little bit.  He is an extremely hard worker.  He has been the sole financial provider for most of our marriage, sometimes working more than one job at a time.  This has allowed me to be able to stay at home with my kids.  Though I’ll admit, sometimes I feel guilty for not being able to provide financially or feel like I don’t have much of a purpose.  But let’s get back to my husband.

He makes me laugh so hard, I cry

He is a great dad

He is loyal, trustworthy and faithful

He meal plans and cooks dinner (yes ladies, almost every night.)

He cleans the bathrooms (along with many other household chores)

He forgives easily and says he’s sorry

He loves me in sickness and in health

And that’s about it.  No, just kidding!  I could go on and on.  But I won’t get too mushy on you. My prayer is that we grow stronger as a couple.  That nothing will divide us and that we keep Christ at the center of our marriage.  I thank God daily for him (especially when he comes back from business trips, ha!)
