Mommy and Me Jamberry Nails Online Party + Giveaway

Disclosure: I wrote this post on behalf of Jamberry Nail’s Independent Consultant, Alicia Sherman.  I received products to thank me for my time.  All opinions regarding Jamberry Nails are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

I first heard about Jamberry Nails over a year ago, but never thought much of them.  I was kind of skeptical and figured they looked too complicated for me.  But about a month ago, I had the opportunity to sample them at my mom’s group.  And I loved them!

When my daughter first saw them on my finger nails, she wanted some, too.  She even used her stickers to create wraps for herself.  What a cutie!  So it was perfect timing when Alicia, an Independent Consultant from Jamberry Nails, reached out to me to host an online party and giveaway.

Jamberry Nails has so many fun and beautiful options to choose from.  And when I saw the Mommy and Me sets, I knew my daughter would be so excited.  I chose the Mod Love Mommy and Me Set because Big C’s favorite color is blue.  Check out all the other fun designs HERE.

Big C wanted us to do a pattern, so a pattern we did.  She was very patient as mommy gathered materials (rubbing alcohol, blow dryer, nail file and nail scissors) and followed the simple steps of application.  It took me about 30 minutes to apply her wraps.
Jamberry Nail wraps would make a perfect gift for yourself or someone you love.  You can head over to Alicia’s website to start shopping, connect with her on Facebook for the latest specials and designs or email her with questions on joining her team as a consultant.
Alicia is giving away two sets of wraps (reader’s choice) to one blessed reader!  Simply fill out the Rafflecopter form below to enter.  Open to US residents only. No purchase necessary.

Our Life Since Our Big Move

It’s been about 4 months since we’ve moved from Colorado to Florida.  And goodness, it’s been quite the adjustment for all of us.  We miss so many things about Colorado, but we remind ourselves daily how blessed we are with all that we have . . . family, friends, a beautiful home and so much more.

So what’s been happening here?  Big C misses her Colorado friends (as do I).  She writes them letters every week.  It’s been fun teaching her how snail mail works.  Even though she can’t write yet, what she verbalizes to me has improved greatly from when we first started the letters.  Big C is also in dance class.  Her first recital is coming up in a few weeks!

Little M continues therapy.  He isn’t receiving physical therapy, but more of all around support.  He has yet to start walking.  This worried me a bit when I saw kids younger then him running all over the place.  But his therapist says there is nothing to worry about.  It’s not that he can’t do it, it’s that he won’t because he is scared.  He will be reevaluated in July and hopefully he will be walking by then. He is also a man of few words.  But understands me very well.

We are currently in the process of building a swimming pool in our backyard and it can not get done soon enough.  We are so excited!  It should be done by summer time.  We’ll definitely be making tons of memories with family and friends.

We’ve also been visiting lots of fun Florida attractions, including Disney World, Busch Gardens and the beautiful Clearwater Marine Aquarium where Dolphin Tale was filmed!

Finding Healing After My C-section {Part One}

It’s been about 14 months since my baby boy was born.  And sadly, I’m still in pain.  I don’t really talk about it to most people, hoping it will just go away on it’s own. But my husband convinced me that it was time to see a doctor.

Let’s rewind for a minute.  My first child, Big C, was born in Florida naturally.  But about three weeks later, we were both hospitalized with infections.  I had a D&C while in the hospital, which caused scar tissue on my uterus, above my cervix.

About three years later, I was put on bedrest at the hospital in Colorado while pregnant with Little M, because my water broke 8 weeks early.  Almost 3 weeks later, I had a c-section because Little M was transverse. After Little M was born, recovery was extremely hard for me.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I saw a doctor in Florida about my pain.  He suggested I have laparoscopy surgery. He believes I may have adhesions which are causing my pelvic pain.  I’ve gone back and forth on this for a while.  I really do not want another surgery.  I have a very hard time trusting doctors with my body because of past traumas.

So I sought out alternatives.  I recently saw a chiropractor.  I shared my past history with him and told him I don’t really like any doctors.  His words back to me were this, “Nobody is going to understand the pain YOU went through.  Nobody!  But if you don’t forgive and move forward from the past, you will never heal.”

The chiropractor has come up with a plan including four treatments of ultrasound and laser therapy. If I do not show improvement, he will refer me to a new doctor for a second opinion.  I really hope the treatments work, but if not, I pray that God brings me to the right doctor who can take care of this pain, once and for all.

Preschool Homeschool Curriculum Giveaway

Disclosure: I wrote this post on behalf of Crunchy Farm Baby and received a free product to thank me for my time.  All opinions regarding Preschool Homeschool Curriculum are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

As a former teacher, we put education at the top of our list.  But I like to let my children lead and then expand off of their interests.  Some of my daughter’s favorite interests are reading, exploring and experiments.  So when Leah McDermott, the author of Create a WORLD YOU LOVE to Live In Preschool Homeschool Curriculum, asked me to review her book, I felt it was a perfect match for our family.

Create a WORLD YOU LOVE to Live In is an easy to follow, nature-based curriculum.  It doesn’t require many resources, except for a few things around your home and Mother Nature.  It comes with 30 cross-curricular themes designed to help your preschooler fall in love with nature and encourage a sense of wonder about the world around them.

There are over 25 activities in each theme (750 activities total), which allows me to pick and choose which activities fit my daughter’s interests and level best.  With another baby stuck like glue to me, it’s hard to find time to plan, but this curriculum is super easy to follow and understand, that it doesn’t take much planning at all.

You won’t find any screen time incorporated into these lessons, but you will find activities such as, nature walks, literature and and sensory experiences.  These are great activities that my baby can be included in, as well.  The learning philosophies come from Maria Montessori, Waldorf and Reggio Emilia!

Cleaning Products that Help with Allergies and Asthma + Giveaway

Disclosure: I wrote this post on behalf Allergy Asthma Clean and received compensation as a thank you for my time.  All opinions regarding Allergy Asthma Clean are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

My little ones experienced some allergies a few weeks ago, that they have never experienced before. It resulted in many trips and lots of traffic to the doctor’s office.  It was not much fun at all and caused this mama a lot of heart ache.  If there was a way I could have prevented their uncomfortableness, I would have.

Savanna Elliot knows exactly what I’m talking about.  She grew up with life threatening allergies and asthma that left her lonely and secluded to her bedroom.  And at one point, she ended up in the hospital, close to death.  Things needed to change.  That’s when her father and a team designed a product that decreased allergens in the air and gave her back her life.

Allergy Asthma Clean is a line of safe household cleaners designed for people who suffer from allergies and asthma.  Allergy Asthma Clean encapsulates the organic and inorganic material, drops it down and allows you to vacuum it up once it dries.  The blend of minerals helps to reduce allergens including pet dander, odor, mildew, smoke, pet stains and more.

With Allergy Asthma Clean, you won’t find alcohol, enzymes, bacteria, or fragrances.  It’s 100% mineral based to keep your family healthy and safe.

If someone you care about suffers from allergies and asthma, you can purchase Allergy Asthma Clean at AllergyAsthmaClean.com.  Stay connected with Allergy Asthma Clean on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest for all their latest updates and discounts.

Easter Blessings 2015

Four years ago, we celebrated Easter in Florida with our family.  Moving back from Colorado 4 years later, not much has changed in our way of celebrating Jesus’ resurrection.  Oh how I love family traditions.

Last week, Big C colored Easter eggs and did a very good job.  I didn’t tell her what to do, I just wanted to see how creative she could be on her own.  She loved it!
On Easter Sunday, we made it to church with plenty of time to spare.  We were able to capture this cute photo of the kids in their Easter best.
After church, we headed to Grandma and Pop Pop’s for a celebration with cousins.  What a happy day filled with Easter blessings!
How did you celebrate this Easter?  Do you have Easter traditions?

Disclosure: I wrote this post on behalf of Tommy Nelson and received a promotional item to thank me for my time.  All opinions regarding Tommy Nelson and God Bless My Boo Boo are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

When I was a little girl, my mom nicked named me, Manda Boo Boo Day.  I have no idea where that came from, but it stuck.  To this day, many of my family and friends call me Boo.  This book is not at all about me, but it struck my heart strings when I read the title.

God Bless My Boo Boo is a special book for little ones to help them feel better when they get hurt. And we certainly know that it isn’t hard for our babies to get bumps, bruises and scrapes.  This comforting, sweet and a little silly rhyming book is the perfect gift for mom and baby.

The author of God Bless My Boo Boo, Hannah C. Hall, has read over 4,000 bedtime stories to her children and is thankful to add  her own books to their daily bedtime routine.  Illustrator, Steve Whitlow, has no formal training, but so much natural talent.  He has worked for a professional illustrator for two decades.

Though Big C is getting a little old for this beautiful board book, she enjoys reading to her baby brother.  And Little M loves all the attention she gets from her, especially a little reading time.

You can purchase the same book Little M has for $9.99 from TommyNelson.com or choose from a variety of other faith products.  Stay connected with Tommy Nelson on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.  Enter for your chance to win God Bless My Boo Boo by filling out the Rafflecopter form below.  This giveaway is open to US residents only.  Good luck!
