Being a mommy to a new baby, I have been so excited to make our little guy’s baby food.  I want to start him on the right path to healthy eating.  So I did my research and found Sage Spoonfuls.

Sage Spoonfuls was created by a mom who wanted to make creating homemade baby food simple and healthy.  They also wanted to make it easy to serve, store or take on the go.  Liza thought of everything for her line, including immersion blender, food processor, storage jars, labels, stackable storage trays, coolers and cookbook.
Liza is a proud parent of a preemie, just like me.  I felt she understood that the little accomplishments, like feeding a baby, is really a huge feat for a preemie.  Her cookbook provides not only recipes month by month, but also the perfect combinations, how long the food can freeze or keep in the refrigerator, and even the the right spices to add in to each recipe.  Liza’s book is easy to follow, even if you aren’t a chef.  And my goodness, my family knows I’m not.
Little M’s first food with the food processor was applesauce.  I can’t even put in to words how easy this was to make.  Just clean, cut, steam and puree.  Then I added my labels and stored until Little M was ready to eat.  Other foods Little M has tried includes bananas (his favorite), avocado (least favorite), carrots, pears and butternut squash.
The Benefits of making your own baby food: Homemade baby food is even more nutritious then purchasing organic baby food from the store, because they add preservatives for shelf life.  Making your own baby food is less expensive.  Not to mention, tore brands are very bland.  Once baby is used to eating bland foods, they won’t be as adventurous to try new foods.  Making your own food creates less waste.  And it’s just as convenient as purchasing from the store.

You can purchase the same Glass Homemade Essentials Package that I reviewed for 69.99 or choose another package or accessories from SageSpoonfuls.com.  Stay connected with Sage Spoonfuls on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube and Instagram for healthy tips, new products and updates!

Nuby Oral Care Set {Review}

Disclosure: I wrote this post on behalf of Nuby and received a promotional item to thank me for my time.  All views and opinions regarding Nuby and their oral care set are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

I don’t like going to the dentist because I had cavities at a very young age.  I don’t want my kids to dislike the dentist, so I want to keep their teeth healthy and clean.  We do this by avoiding juices and sweets when we can.  And we brush at least twice a day.  Even Little M gets his gums cleaned.

Little M uses the gum cleaner found in the four stage oral care system by Nuby.  He loves how it tickles his gums.  And I like that it fits perfectly on my finger to get them nice and clean.  This would make an awesome baby shower gift, too, helping parents to keep their little ones teeth clean at all ages!

This stage four system is appropriate for kids 0 months and up!  It promotes the early development of good dental hygiene and protects teeth.  These toothbrushes are BPA free.

You can purchase the same oral care set that Little M has at Baby Depot at Burlington.  Stay connected with Nuby on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram for all their latest products and giveaways!

Thankful Rocks

Lately, Big C has been wanting to have everything she sees in the stores or what other friends have.  I used to say, maybe for your birthday or Christmas.  But lately, it’s just been getting out of hand.  You might remember the review I did on the book, Being Thankful by Mercer Mayer.  In the book, Little Critter receives a thankful rock to remind him to be grateful for what he has, instead of wanting what others have.

So, this past week I’ve been reminding Big C the same, instead of telling her maybe she’ll get it for her birthday or Christmas.  And to help it sink in, we created Thankful Rocks.  Basically, she just painted rocks, but she’s getting the point.  I’m also going to try and make it a habit to ask her what she is thankful for each day.
Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20

How do you remind your children to be thankful for what they have?

Soothie Suckers {Review and Giveaway}

Disclosure: I wrote this post on behalf of Soothie Suckers and received promotional items and compensation to thank me for my time.  All opinions regarding Soothie Suckers are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

Has your little one ever been so sick that they won’t eat or drink anything except maybe a sip of juice or a lick of a popsicle?  Thankfully, this doesn’t happen too often for us, but when it does, it’s very worrisome.  When you really need them to take in a little extra vitamins, that’s when they least want to take them.  So I thought herbal support in an ice pop was a cool idea.

Soothie Suckers is an all-natural ice pop infused with herbal remedies.  It comes in two blends Immune Support (Orange) and Nasal Support (Grape).  They come in BPA-free pouches and formulated with President of the American Herbalists Guild.  Soothie Suckers are sweetened with organic agave nectar without any artificial flavors.

Big C loves both flavors.  She gives them a thumbs up.  And I think they are such a fun way to give children immune support when they probably otherwise wouldn’t take their vitamins.  These yummy pops can be frozen or taken in liquid form.  With back-to-school, it’s certainly the perfect time to stock up.

You can purchase Soothie Suckers for $9.99 at SoothieSuckers.com.  Stay connected with Soothie Suckers on Facebook and Twitter for all their latest updates.

Soothie Suckers is giving away a box of herbal ice pops of each flavor to one blessed reader.  Simply fill out the Rafflecopter form below to enter.  This giveaway is open to US residents only.  Good luck!

Little M’s Six Month Update

Yesterday, our little man turned 6 months old.  I have to be honest, these months have been very challenging.  But as I look back at how far he has come, I’m so proud of him.  From the most serious and many times crankiest baby, to now, the baby with the best belly laugh.  From teeny tiny to chunky monkey.  And though he is still behind in gross motor skills, I see improvements everyday.

What’s new with Little M:

He almost always wakes up between 4 and 5am and is ready for the day.  Sometimes I can get him back to sleep, but other days we lay awake in my bed for a couple more hours while the rest of the house gets their sleep.  Someone suggested night weaning, so we tried it, but it didn’t work.  I’ve given up trying to control things.  I just need to let go and let God.

For a long time, Little M would not take naps in his crib.  If I got him to sleep, he would wake up screaming 10 to 25 minutes later.  And I couldn’t get him back to sleep again.  Then another blogger posted on her Facebook page, “Give me your best baby sleep tips.”  I had to read them.  Someone commented with, “Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleep Suit.”  So I looked it up.  It described my little guy perfectly.  Though I was so skeptical, I was desperate to try anything.  We bought it, we tried it, and IT WORKED!  I no longer have to hold Little M in my arms to take a nap.  He sleeps peacefully in his crib.  Part of me really enjoyed snuggling him close, but I knew I could not do that forever.

He is now teething.  I am so thankful that Mister Man Pants allowed me to review their Baltic Amber Teething Necklace.  I can definitely see a difference when he doesn’t have it on.  So now, we have it on 24/7.  I’m giving one away too, so go enter!

He had his first solids yesterday and loved it!  I asked my blog Facebook friends what baby food Little M should eat first.  I think most of you said avocado and I was leaning towards that, but they weren’t ripe enough in time.  So it will probably be his second food.  We chose banana instead.

He has been approved for in-home physical therapy but has yet to start.  We are just waiting for the call in the next couple of weeks.  I’m really looking forward to it and I hope it makes a world of difference.

He weighs 17 pounds and 13 ounces (56%).

His height is 25 and a half inches (9%).

His head is steady at 46 (99%).  Yes, I have a smart boy!

Label Your Belongings with Kidecals {Review and Giveaway}

Disclosure: I wrote this post on behalf of Kidecals and received a promotional item to thank me for my time.  All thoughts and opinions regarding Kidecals and their labels are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

After I picked up Big C from drop-in daycare, I found that they had written her name with permanent marker on her belongings.  It made me a little annoyed because we work hard to take care of our things and eventually hand them down or resell them.  I wish I would have labeled her things myself. So when Kidecals offered us an opportunity to review their labels, I was pretty excited.

Kidecals are personalized labels that are dishwasher, washing machine and dryer safe!  And they stick to any surface.  You can use these stickers on clothing, backpacks, tupperware, devices . . . anything!

I chose to create fun labels for Little M’s belongings because I don’t want what happened to Big C’s things, to happen to his.  There were so many styles and designs to choose from.  And I found the cutest ones that fit Little M perfectly.

Kidecals has a label for almost any use, including organizing labels, allergy alerts, canning, water bottle labels and more!  And what a perfect solution to keep your child’s things from ending up in lost-and-found.  Kidecals always offers free shipping, too!

You can purchase the same labels Little M received for $28 at Kidecals.com or choose from a variety of other labels.  Stay connected with Kidecals on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram for all their latest products, ideas and updates.

Kidecals is giving away your choice of labels up to $21 (Everyday Set or Mini Set) to one blessed reader.  Simply fill out the Rafflecopter below to enter.  This giveaway is open to US residents only. Good Luck!

Baltic Amber Teething Necklace {Review and Giveaway}

Disclosure: I wrote this post on behalf of Mister Man Pants and received a promotional item to thank me for my time.  All opinions regarding Mister Man Pants and the teething necklace are my own and were not swayed by other sources.

Little M is starting to show a few signs of teething.  And knowing this little guy, teething is going to be tough (for the both of us).  I began asking other moms where they purchased their teething necklaces.  And that’s when I found Mister Man Pants.

Mister Man Pants shop was created by a mom who switched to cloth diapering after her son showed signs of sensitive skin.  Kate decided to make her own because she was tight on money and wanted to sell them to others parents.  Mister Man Pants not only creates cloth diapers and baltic amber teething necklaces, but she also makes trainers, decals, stuffies and more.  Kate makes everything from home, responds to her shoppers and ships out quickly.

I chose the Dark, Cherry and Honey Polished necklace for Little M.  It is so beautiful!  Even better in person then in the picture.  And I must say, it sure does look nice on my little guy.

Little M giggles every time I put on his necklace.  And so far, he’s been a happy little guy with his beautiful baltic amber around his neck.
You can purchase the same baltic amber teething necklace Little M has for $15.00 at MisterManPants.com or choose from a variety of other handmade baby products.  Stay connected with Mister Man Pants on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for all their latest products, specials and giveaways.

Forgiveness and Thankfulness Children’s Books {Review and Giveaway}

Disclosure: I wrote this post on behalf of Tommy Nelson and received promotional items to thank me for my time.  All opinions regarding Tommy Nelson and the children’s books are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

I truly believe that teaching our children comes more from our actions then by what we tell them to do.  For example, if I make a mistake about something, I always admit I’m wrong and tell Big C I’m sorry.  And I always tell her that I forgive her if she says sorry to me.

The Little Critter: We All Need Forgiveness and Being Thankful helps me to reinforce these two very important virtues.  They are super kid friendly books that teaches a great message.

We All Need Forgiveness is based on the Bible verse Matthew 6:14, “As God forgives, we must forgive each other.”  Being Thankful is based on Psalm 107:1.  It teaches children what gratitude is and why we should be thankful for all the blessings God has given us.

You can purchase these same books for $9.99 each at TommyNelson.com or choose from a variety of other faith products.  Stay connected with Tommy Nelson on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest for all their latest products, updates and giveaways.

Win both copies for your little one by filling out the Rafflecopter form below.  This giveaway is open to US residents only.  Good luck!

A Heavy Heart And Patience

While all the mamas are showing off their superpower this month (breastfeeding awareness month).  I’m over here with a little bit of jealousy and a heavy heart.  Little M was able to latch on once in the NICU, but went straight to his feeding tube afterwards.  And though I pumped . . . A LOT, I never got more then 10 ml’s.

I nursed Big C for about 3 weeks.  She didn’t gain much weight before she was diagnosed with Meningitis.  I’ll never know if I couldn’t produce for my babies or if I just had 2 really crappy situations.

I think being able to naturally feed your babies is amazing.  And I know the soul purpose of this month to support those mamas.  But I also feel like we need to be sensitive to the moms who never got to the chance.

Speaking of milk, Little M is night weaning from his bottles.  I don’t ever remember doing this with Big C.  I think she weaned herself.  So I find that I need more patience with this little guy.  For the past week, we’ve been reducing Little M’s nightly feedings by one ounce.  Last night, he didn’t get a bottle at all, but I had pop over to his room several times to stick in his paci.  I’m hoping he gets the hang of this soon.  This mama is ready to sleep.

What are your tips for night weaning?
