The Life of a Fashionista

Big C is becoming so independent.  Well, most days, anyway.  One of her favorite big girl things to do is pick out her clothes for the day.  And I just love to see what she comes up with.  She’s really into accessorizing, too.  Here’s what she came up with this past week.

1. Every girl needs a balloon accessory.  And check out her bracelets.  Yes, that’s a bell.
2. Yup, she loves those heart sunglasses, but did you see what’s on her arms?  Those are Little M’s leg warmers.
3. Here she is wearing a more simple, yet super cute outfit.
4.  Oh my!  This one made me laugh.  Her big diamond ring and a tutu around her head.  She’s such a trend setter.
Do your kids like to put outfits together like Big C?

Happy 4 Months to Little M

Yesterday, our little guy turned 4 months old (about 3 months adjusted).  And today was our 4 month well visit.  This boy has certainly kept me on my toes this month and he always gives his mama something to worry pray about.

What’s new with Little M:

He weighs 15.6 pounds and is in the 48th percentile.  About a pound and a half gain since last month.

His height is 23.5 inches and in the 2 percentile.

And the biggest worry of them all, is his head at 44.5 inches at the 99th percentile.  He was in the 60th percentile 2 months ago.  His pediatrician will order an ultrasound if his head continues to grow off the charts at 6 months.  From what I have read, a large head is normal for preemies.  So I don’t want to worry too much, but I also want to make sure everything is okay.

He is still unable to lift his head off the ground during tummy time.  Probably because it’s so big. And he has a hard time sitting up without his head being supported.  Because of this, the pediatrician is referring him to a physical therapist to be evaluated.  I am so conflicted on whether to wait it out and let him catch up on his own or to get him help right away.  Hopefully the physical therapist can answer more of our questions and concerns.  And put this mama at ease.

He no longer has to see a chiropractor for his reflux.

He has started “talking.”

And he might end up being a thumb sucker.

What’s new with Big C:

She has become quite the climber, climbing all the rock walls at the playgrounds and giving me small heart attacks.
She really enjoys dressing herself each morning.  Sometimes her outfits are perfectly matched and other times they consist of wonder woman with froggy boots.  I should totally take a picture each day of her outfits and post them at the end of the week.
Why, yes!  That is a red tutu over her shorts.

Nuby Medical Kit {Review}

Disclosure: I wrote this post on behalf of Nuby and received promotional items to thank me for my time.  All opinions regarding Nuby and the medical kit are my own.

Having a new baby in the house means I need to be prepared for just about everything.  Nuby’s medical kit has my baby’s needs taken care of.  The kit includes Sure-Dose medicine dropper, Medi Nurser, Nasal Aspirator with Ear Syringe, Medicine Spoon, Nail Clippers and Digital Thermometer.

Sure-Dose Medicine Dropper: ensures accurate dosage measurement in both teaspoons and milliliters. The bulb design makes measurement easy.
Sure-Dose Medicine Spoon: designed for children to hold so they can take their medicine themselves.
Medi-Nurser: provides an easy, neat and accurate way to administer oral medicine or vitamins to baby.  The nipple bypasses most of the taste buds and reduces baby’s ability to smell the medicine.
Nasal Aspirator and Ear Syringe: pediatrician recommended method for the immediate relief of nasal congestion in infants.
Nail Clippers: it’s curved trimming edges are scaled down for ease of use on a small child’s nails.
So far, we’ve needed the nail clippers and often.  Little M’s nails grow very quickly and he ends up scratching his face and head.  It isn’t easy getting him to sit still to clip his nails, so I do it while he is in his car seat.
I really like this kit.  The only other thing I wish this kit came with is a carrying case to keep all the supplies together.
You can purchase this same medical kit from cookieskids.com and amazon.com.  Stay connected with Nuby on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram for all the latest products and giveaways.

Summertime Snack

My daughter is a snack machine.  She’ll finish a meal and two minutes later ask for a snack.  So for summertime, I loved the idea to create our own popsicles.  Not only can we make them healthy, but it’s a nice, cool and fun treat.

So far we have created blueberry and cream popsicles (shown in picture), as well as, strawberry popsicles.  The blueberry and cream is made of blueberries and almond milk mixed in a blender.  Our strawberry popsicles are just pure strawberries, but I think I will add almond or coconut milk next time.

What is your favorite homemade popsicle recipe?

Swim Lessons

Last summer, Big C and I took Mommy and Me swim lessons.  Since the last day of our class, she asked everyday if we could go back the following summer.  I always said yes.  Then this summer hit and so did all of our medical bills.  There was no way we could add in swim lessons to the budget.

But I didn’t want to break her heart on something I knew she probably needed anyway.  I remembered the little bit of earnings I made from my blog and used that for one months worth of classes.  And I’m so glad I did.  This was the pure joy and excitement she had on her face the whole time.

What is your child’s favorite summertime activity?

Bet On Your Baby Luvs Coupon Giveaway

Disclosure: I wrote this post on behalf of “Bet On Your Baby” and Luvs diapers and will be receiving compensation in exchange for this post.  All opinions are my own and have not been influenced by other sources.

Have you seen the show Bet On Your Baby?  It’s a family-friendly show that gives parents the opportunity to see how well they know their baby.  The second season premieres on May 31st on ABC, so don’t miss this hilarious and adorable game show.

So how does the game show work?  Parents try to predict their toddler’s next move in an effort to win money for their child’s future education.  If our family was in the Baby Dome, I think Big C would definitely surprise me.  I’m not sure I could predict her moves.  How about you?  How do you think you and your baby would do in the Baby Dome?

Giveaway Time!  Would you like a chance to win a three pack of coupons for Luvs Jumbo Pack of diapers?  Use the Rafflecopter form below for your chance to win.  Open to US residents only.  And don’t forget to stay connected with Bet On Your Baby on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram

I Love You All The Same {Review and Giveaway}

I wrote this post on behalf of Thomas Nelson and received a promotional item to thank me for my time.  All opinions regarding Thomas Nelson and I Love You All The Same are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

One way that helps me explain challenging messages to Big C is through books.  We’ve used books with everything from potty training to manners.  And expressing to Big C that just because she has a new little brother, it doesn’t make me love her any less.

That’s why the book I Love You All The Same is perfect for us.  It teaches children that they are all different and special in their own way, but mommy and daddy love them each the same.  This is a great book for introducing a new sibling into the family, too!

In it’s rhyming form, this book shares how three bears are so different from one another.  They don’t eat the same, look the same or play the same.  But they are all part of the same family for a reason.

Big C enjoys pointing out the differences and learning about each type of bear.  The rhyming makes the book even more fun for her.  It’s a great board book that can be passed down from child to child.

You can purchase the same book Big C has for $9.99 from ThomasNelson.com or choose from a variety of other faith products.  Stay connected with Tommy Nelson on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

Tommy Nelson is giving away a copy of I Love You All The Same to one blessed reader.  Simply fill out the Rafflecopter form below to enter.  Open to US residents only.
