Big C is becoming so independent. Well, most days, anyway. One of her favorite big girl things to do is pick out her clothes for the day. And I just love to see what she comes up with. She’s really into accessorizing, too. Here’s what she came up with this past week.

Yesterday, our little guy turned 4 months old (about 3 months adjusted). And today was our 4 month well visit. This boy has certainly kept me on my toes this month and he always gives his mama something to
worry pray about.
What’s new with Little M:
He weighs 15.6 pounds and is in the 48th percentile. About a pound and a half gain since last month.
His height is 23.5 inches and in the 2 percentile.
And the biggest worry of them all, is his head at 44.5 inches at the 99th percentile. He was in the 60th percentile 2 months ago. His pediatrician will order an ultrasound if his head continues to grow off the charts at 6 months. From what I have read, a large head is normal for preemies. So I don’t want to worry too much, but I also want to make sure everything is okay.
He is still unable to lift his head off the ground during tummy time. Probably because it’s so big. And he has a hard time sitting up without his head being supported. Because of this, the pediatrician is referring him to a physical therapist to be evaluated. I am so conflicted on whether to wait it out and let him catch up on his own or to get him help right away. Hopefully the physical therapist can answer more of our questions and concerns. And put this mama at ease.
He no longer has to see a chiropractor for his reflux.
He has started “talking.”
And he might end up being a thumb sucker.

Having a new baby in the house means I need to be prepared for just about everything. Nuby’s medical kit has my baby’s needs taken care of. The kit includes Sure-Dose medicine dropper, Medi Nurser, Nasal Aspirator with Ear Syringe, Medicine Spoon, Nail Clippers and Digital Thermometer.
My daughter is a snack machine. She’ll finish a meal and two minutes later ask for a snack. So for summertime, I loved the idea to create our own popsicles. Not only can we make them healthy, but it’s a nice, cool and fun treat.
So far we have created blueberry and cream popsicles (shown in picture), as well as, strawberry popsicles. The blueberry and cream is made of blueberries and almond milk mixed in a blender. Our strawberry popsicles are just pure strawberries, but I think I will add almond or coconut milk next time.
Last summer, Big C and I took Mommy and Me swim lessons. Since the last day of our class, she asked everyday if we could go back the following summer. I always said yes. Then this summer hit and so did all of our medical bills. There was no way we could add in swim lessons to the budget.
But I didn’t want to break her heart on something I knew she probably needed anyway. I remembered the little bit of earnings I made from my blog and used that for one months worth of classes. And I’m so glad I did. This was the pure joy and excitement she had on her face the whole time.

One way that helps me explain challenging messages to Big C is through books. We’ve used books with everything from potty training to manners. And expressing to Big C that just because she has a new little brother, it doesn’t make me love her any less.
That’s why the book I Love You All The Same is perfect for us. It teaches children that they are all different and special in their own way, but mommy and daddy love them each the same. This is a great book for introducing a new sibling into the family, too!
In it’s rhyming form, this book shares how three bears are so different from one another. They don’t eat the same, look the same or play the same. But they are all part of the same family for a reason.
Big C enjoys pointing out the differences and learning about each type of bear. The rhyming makes the book even more fun for her. It’s a great board book that can be passed down from child to child.
Tommy Nelson is giving away a copy of I Love You All The Same to one blessed reader. Simply fill out the Rafflecopter form below to enter. Open to US residents only.
