Nuby’s All Natural Toddler Toothpaste and Toothbrush {Review}

I wrote this post on behalf of Nuby and received a promotional item to thank me for my time.  All opinions regarding Nuby and the Toddler Toothpaste and brush are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

My little girl loves to brush her teeth.  She has a collection of toothbrushes that she picks from each day.  But her new favorite is the toddler toothbrush from Nuby.  She had the opportunity to review the toothbrush and the all natural toothpaste.  She gives them two thumbs up!

The all natural toddler training toothpaste is a fun Tutti Fruiti flavored gel that is safe to swallow.  It gives me peace of mind that it’s fluoride free and non-toxic.  The toothpaste is made in the USA, BPA free and easy to open.

The toothbrush is the perfect size for Big C’s little hands and has an easy grip handle.  She got excited when she saw the fun, bright colors.  And the soft bristles were so gentle on her teeth and gums.  No complaining from this little girl!  Just like the toothpaste, the toothbrush is BPA free.

You can purchase the same toddler toothpaste and toothbrush Big C has from Kmart.  Stay connected with Nuby on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram for all the latest products and giveaways!

Raising a Preemie

Am I doing it right?  I question myself daily.  Everything from feeding and sleeping schedules to monthly development.

Little M sleeps a lot.  He could go 5 hours at one time, during the day.  Should I wake him so that maybe he’ll sleep longer at night.  (He sleeps about 3 – 4 hours at a time during the night.)  Or do I just let him sleep?  His body knows what it needs, right?

I know Little M is not going to master developmental stages each month.  I started to get concerned when I read that at 3 months, babies should be able to lift their head up at 45 degrees.  Little M can’t lift it a bit.  Not even a centimeter.  My Facebook family and friends all agreed I should burn that book.  But what if I miss something?  What if I should be concerned and I just chalk it up to him being a preemie?

And Little M doesn’t look like a preemie, at all.  In fact, he may be bigger then most term babies.  I worried so much with Big C when she was a baby.  I promised myself I wouldn’t do the same with my second.  But this is a whole new ball game for me.

Little M Turns Three Months

Over the weekend, our Little M turned 3 months old.  I can’t believe how quickly he is growing.

What’s new with Little M:

He weighs almost 14 pounds.  That’s about a 3 pound weight gain since last month.

He moved into his own bedroom and sleeps in his big boy crib.

After going to bed between 7 and 8, he wakes around 12 and 3 and 5.  I wish I could get him to sleep a little later.  Any tips?

He is starting to smile more.  And boy, are those smiles precious.

He had a hip and renal ultrasounds and both came back normal.  Praise God!

He continues to see the chiropractor for reflux, but less often.  It has improved so much.

What’s new with Big C:

She got her first haircut by her Grandma!

She went bowling for the first time and loved it.

She’s been getting dressed each morning all by herself and going downstairs, instead of waking us up early.

The Kid Who Changed the World Book {Review and Giveaway}

I wrote this post on behalf of Tommy Nelson and received a promotional item to thank me for my time.  All opinions regarding Tommy Nelson and this book are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

Growing up, I always saw my mom helping others in any way she could.  I want my kids to see me do the same.  Because I know that one person can change the world with the butterfly effect.  One person does something generous, which causes that person to do the same.

I’m so glad Big C and I got the chance to read and review The Kid Who Changed the World.  It proves how just one person, Norman Borlaug, saved the lives of TWO BILLION people.  Or was it Vice President Henry Wallace who changed the world?  Or maybe it was George Washington Carver, or Susan Carver?

I guess you’ll have to find out by reading this incredible book that is based on a true story.  The engaging stories share the truth that everything we do really does matter.  The blessing of one person is passed on to another, sharing the character’s stories of how they changed the lives of others.

I wasn’t a big history buff growing up, but I really appreciate the history that is incorporated into this beautifully illustrated story.  And Big C was fascinated by each character and the butterfly effect.

You can purchase the same book Big C received for $14.99 at TommyNelson.com or choose from a variety of other faith products.  Stay connected with Tommy Nelson on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

Tommy Nelson is giving away a copy of The Kid Who Changed the World to one blessed reader. Simply fill in the Rafflecopter form below to enter.  Open to US residents only.

Red Robin Interactive Allergen Menu and $25 Gift Card {Review and Giveaway}

I wrote this post on behalf of Red Robin and received compensation to thank me for my time.  All views and opinions regarding Red Robin are my own and were not influenced by other sources.  The Red Robin information and gift cards have been provided by Red Robin.

Do you or a family member have a food allergy that makes it difficult to enjoy a meal outside the home?  Big C and I both have allergies, so we have to be careful of what we put in our mouths.  With Red Robin’s new interactive allergen menu, it makes it much easier to avoid the foods we are allergic to.

Red Robin’s Customizer Hub on RedRobin.com allows diners to create different combinations of ingredients and still enjoy their favorite menu items while keeping within their dietary restrictions. The Customizer Hub gives guests two options: “Customize Your Nutrition” and “Build a Customizer Allergen Menu.”

The Interactive Allergen Menu provides recommendations based on guests’ allergies and allows them to view a menu that fits their specific needs.  All Red Robin team members are trained to allow visitors to modify their food or beverage order to suit their taste or dietary preferences.  All allergy orders are rung in with bright, bold and red type to alert the kitchen staff and a special allergen kit is used for the order.  Red Robin provides the guest with information so they can make an educated decision on what to order themselves, whether it’s for food intolerances or food allergies.

Our family had the opportunity to test out the Build a Customizer Allergen Menu and we loved it.  It was simple to use and a relief to know we weren’t being exposed to anything we were allergic to.  I wish other restaurants had the same or similar menu options.

Just in time for Allergen Awareness Month, a gluten-free beer called Omission Pale Ale, is now available as part of Red Robin’s line of craft beers!

To celebrate National Allergy Awareness Month, Red Robin is providing one blessed reader a $25 gift certificate.  Simply enter by using the Rafflecopter form below.  Open to US residents only.  Be sure to stay connected with Red Robin on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for all their latest news and specials.

Cocooi Babywrap Newborn Baby Swaddle and Hat {Review and Giveaway}

I wrote this post on behalf of Baby Sleep Bags and received a promotional item to thank me for my time.  All opinions regarding Baby Sleep Bags and the Cocooi Babywrap are my own and were not influenced by outside sources.

From day one, our little guy loved to be swaddled.  We had to purchase several wraps so that we could always keep him warm and cozy when other swaddles were dirty or had spit up.  We received the Cocooi Babywrap Swaddle with matching hat that Little M finds very comfy.
This babywrap is the first swaddle blanket made from 100% merino wool. The material is super soft and allergy free, creating a safe night sleep in every season.  With three easy steps, it’s makes wrapping your baby a breeze.  It allows baby to move their arms and legs freely, without startling themselves awake.

My favorite feature of the wrap is the leg pouch.  This allows me to change Little M’s diaper in the middle of the night, without unwrapping and him fully and waking him.

You can purchase the same wrap with matching hat that Little M has for $69.99 at babysleepbags.com or choose from a variety of other colors.  Get an extra 5% off when you buy 2 or more items using coupon code VO5DD2RR.  This includes Merino Kids, Safe T Sleep and Poppet.

Here’s your chance to win a Cocooi Babywrap Newborn Baby Swaddle and Hat for your little one. Simply fill out the Rafflecopter form below to enter.  Open to US residents only.

Easy Clean Bottle Brush {Review}

I wrote this post on behalf of Nuby and received a promotional item to thank me for my time.  All opinions regarding Nuby and the bottle brush are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

Many times with a new baby in the home, comes lots of bottles to clean.  Finding the perfect bottle brush is always helpful.  My favorite is the Nuby Easy Clean Bottle Brush.  Two features that I love include the nipple brush and suction cup at the bottom for easy drying.

The brush features a soft, textured handle.  So it’s very comfortable to use.  The bristles are soft, yet durable, to help sweep away residue.  There is even a sponge around the center of the brush to help with those hard to reach places.

You can purchase the same brush I reviewed at BuyBabyDirect.com and Sam’s Club.  Stay connected with Nuby on FacebookTwitterPinterest and Instagram for all their latest products, giveaways and contests!

Parents of Preemies Day

Sometimes seeing other pregnant women carrying their baby to their due date, giving birth without a hitch and naturally feeding their baby without issues makes me a little jealous and sad.  I feel like I was cheated.  Why couldn’t my body do that?  Why couldn’t I provide for my baby?  But then I’m reminded of the 2 beautiful children I have and this is our journey.

I was about 31 weeks along with my second baby.  We had just visited the high risk doctor who told us this baby wouldn’t come early and I would most likely have a c-section.  The very next week, I was laying in bed, scrolling through Facebook, when my water broke.

I ended up stuck in a hospital bed away from my family, trying to hold our baby in for a couple more weeks.  It was one of the hardest and loneliest times of my life, but I knew there would be light at the end of the tunnel.

After over 2 long weeks of bed rest, our little guy joined us via emergency c-section.  We were so blessed that the only thing keeping him in the NICU was learning how to eat.  After 10 long days, our little man was able to come home.  But it didn’t happen without struggles.

Because Little M spent time in the NICU and I had a family at home too, I spent a lot of time pumping, hoping that when he came home, I would be able to nurse him.  Unfortunately, my milk never came in enough to give him what he needed to survive.  And I had to make the hard choice to give up pumping and focus on being a mommy and wife.

Though our little man still has some procedures in the near future, we have been so blessed that, despite his reflux, he is perfectly healthy and continues to grow strong.  I am a proud parent of a preemie!

I wrote this post on behalf of Lunapads and received promotional items to thank me for my time.  All opinions regarding Lunapads and panties are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

Do you really know what’s in your sanitary pads?  Are you looking for a healthier and safer alternative.  Then Lunapanties may be just what you are looking for.

Lunapanties are underwear and Lunapads all-in-one, a replacement for disposable pads and pantyliners.  Lunapanties can be used everyday or insert liners depending on your menstrual flow. Made with 100% cotton and organic cotton, lunapanties are extremely comfortable without the harmful chemicals and synthetic materials.  They are also safer for the environment by creating less waste in the landfills.

Not only can you wear Lunapanties during your period, they are also ideal for pregnancy and postpartum, as well as, incontinence.  These panties are easy to care for.  Simply wash them by hand or in your washing machine with your favorite detergent.

I had the pleasure of reviewing the MAIA Organic Bikini Panty with the postpartum, overnight and long basic insert.  I love the built-in stretch around the waist and legs because it allows me to wear the panties comfortably as I begin to lose the baby weight.

The panties and liners are super-comfy, making it feel more like underwear, not the bulky pads that can bunch up and become uncomfortable.  I do have to change the liners a little more frequent then a disposable pad, but it is worth it, knowing that I am avoiding chemicals and toxins.

You can purchase the same panties I reviewed for $33.99 or choose from a variety of other styles at Lunapads.com.  Stay connected with Lunapads on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest for all their latest products and discounts.

Lunapads is giving away a Lunapanty to one lucky reader.  Simply fill in the Rafflecopter form below to enter.  Open to US residents only.
