Itsy Bitsy Christmas Book {Review and Giveaway}

I wrote this post on behalf of Tommy Nelson and received a promotional item to thank me for my time.  All views and opinions regarding Tommy Nelson and Itsy Bitsy Christmas book are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

This year is the year that Baby C is really starting to understand what Christmas is all about.  And she is really excited.  She’s been excited since Halloween.  I know, not exactly related, but that’s how thrilled she is to learn more about this season.

Sometimes it’s hard to teach our little ones the true meaning of Christmas.  Of course we want to celebrate the magical side, but sharing the meaningful side is so much more important.  Using the book Itsy Bitsy Christmas to share the Christmas Story has been so helpful.

Itsy Bitsy Christmas shows children how special and important they are, no matter what their size. This book is beautifully illustrated with warm and adorable animal characters.

Description provided by Thomas Nelson:
Do you ever feel like you are too small or ordinary?  That’s how Itsy and Bitsy feel.  When these two charming little mice hear that a king is coming to Bethlehem, they set off with great enthusiasm to find Him. Along the way, they are met with discouraging words telling them they are too little and unimportant for any king.  Just when Itsy and Bitsy begin to believe that they really aren’t big enough for the new King, they learn that Christ the King has indeed come for everyone.

Itsy Bitsy Christmas is perfect for children ages 4 – 7.  You can purchase the same book Baby C has $14.99 at TommyNelson.com or choose from a variety of other faith products.  Tommy Nelson is offering one blessed reader a copy of Itsy Bitsy Christmas for your little one.  Whether you purchase the book or win it, be sure to print out these beautiful coloring sheets that go along with the story. Creating A Magical Christmas With The Santa Express

I wrote this post on behalf of The Santa Express and received complimentary tickets to thank me for my time.  All views and opinions regarding The Santa Express are my own and were not influenced by outside sources.

This past Friday we set out on an adventure that I never knew could be so magical.  As we pulled into The Royal Gorge train depot around 5pm, the weather could not have been more perfect . . . snow.

If you’ve never heard of The Santa Express before, think Polar Express, except real life.  Baby C was bundled in her jammies, not quite sure what she was awaiting, but she couldn’t wait!

Sitting at our table, we were served by friendly staff for appetizers and dinner.  And each passenger received free hot chocolate and a sugar cookie.  What more could a pregnant mama  kid ask for?

Our train traveled about an hour to the “North Pole” where we saw Baby C’s eyes light up and a smile bigger then her face.  There were Christmas lights, decorations and of course, Santa waving to each boy and girl.

Santa’s little helpers quickly boarded the train to entertain the excited children.  We sang Christmas carols and even went on a polar bear hunt.  And at last, Santa came to each individual child, where they shared their wish list with Santa.  And in exchange, Santa presented Baby C with a special gift (Rudolph’s sleigh bell) so that she can remember the magic forever.

Thank you Royal Gorge for creating such a wonderful experience for my daughter and family!

What was the most magical experience you or your children have experienced during Christmas?

Aloe Baby Tender Defender {Review and Giveaway}

I wrote this post on behalf of Aloe Baby and received promotional items to thank me for my time.  All views and opinions regarding Aloe Baby and Tender Defender are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

I grew up on the beach and always remember my mom putting live aloe on my sunburns.  It was very cool, gentle and healing to my sore skin.  When Baby C recently got a severe diaper rash (that looked like a sunburn) we tried putting aloe on to soothe her delicate skin.  And I must say, it worked awesome!  I wanted to bottle the aloe up and keep it in my diaper bag for other emergencies. So I searched out to find someone who already did.

That’s when I found Aloe Baby Tender Defender.  Tender Defender is a bio-active aloe based gel that is pure, natural and safe for your baby’s skin.  It provides a healing layer when placed beneath a barrier cream.

I’m always looking for safer, natural products for my family.  So I love that Tender Defender is free from petrolatum, detergents, parabens, phthalates, alcohol, artificial fragrance, colors, formaldehydes, nuts, gluten, soy and animal products.

Tender Defender can also be used on the whole family.  With the dry winters in Colorado, my skin develops an itchy rash.  This lotion has been so soothing for me, both day and night.  It also helps with chafing, heat rash, sun burn, razor burn, eczema, psoriasis, bed sores, pressure sores, and external hemorrhoids.

The other amazing ingredients in Tender Defender include:

  • Apricot Kernel Oil –  vitamin E and A and gamma linoleic acid provides moisture balance.
  • Rosehip Seed Oil – aids in post-surgical wound healing.
  • Niaouli – highly effective antibacterial and antifungal agent.

This is certainly one of my favorite products that I would recommend to anyone with any sort of skin irritation.  But don’t take my word for it, see what others are saying too!

You can purchase travel size Tender Defender for $2.00 or the 4 oz. bottle for $16.00 at Aloe-Baby.com.  Stay connected with Aloe Baby on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram! Aloe Baby is generously giving away Tender Defender to one blessed reader.  Simply fill out the Rafflecopter form below to enter.  Open to US residents only.

EcoPosh Recycled Organic Training Pants {Review and Giveaway}

I wrote this post on behalf of Thanks Mama and received a promotional item to thank me for my time.  All views and opinions regarding Thanks Mama and their potty training pants are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

You might remember that Baby C is in the midst of potty training.  The first couple of days were rough for the both of us.  I felt like I was doing everything wrong.  And the amount of laundry I did was insane.  But we survived.  And Baby C is pretty much potty trained at home, with exception to sleep time.

She’s not quite ready to be in big girl undies outside the home.  Though she does tell me when she needs to go potty, she doesn’t always tell her nursery teacher.  So when Thanks Mama offered me the opportunity to review a pair of their training pants, I jumped right on it.

We chose the EcoPosh Recycled Organic Training Pants to help us transition from diapers to undies outside of the home.  These amazing training pants are made from organic cotton, bamboo and recycled water bottles.  They contain two inner layers of absorbent bamboo and organic cotton, plus a hidden layer of waterproof TPU which is biodegradable.

Baby C loves her new comfy training pants.  I took her on some morning errands and felt confident that even if she did have an accident, the training pants would provide the support we needed.  The pants are easy for Baby C to pull up and down and they feel just like big girl undies to her.

Nap Time Fails

I’m linking up this week with Our Piece of Earth for Tuesday Toddler Tales!  If you have a toddler, come join in each week!  Weeks and topics are listed here.

As Baby C gets older, her naps are getting fewer and fewer.  However, I still believe she (and mommy) needs 2 hours of quiet time each day.  We transitioned her into a toddler bed about a month ago.  The first week was great.  She loved her new big girl bed.  But then, she discovered she could easily get out and play with everything.
And when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING.  Baby C has pulled out all of her clothes and piled them on the bed several times.  She has pulled out every single diaper and wipe and spread them out on the bed.  Books, toys and you name it.  But the best one that will make me laugh forever . . .
when she styled her hair with bottom balm.  We’ve had a couple more incidences like this since then and we’ve had to in place time outs and early bed times.  She’s getting better at staying in bed now.  Even if she doesn’t sleep, she usually reads quietly or sings in her bed.
What are your nap time wins and/or loses?
