Nuby Bath Animals {Review and Giveaway}

I wrote this post on behalf of Nuby and received a promotional item to thank me for my time.  All views and opinions regarding Nuby and the Bath Animals are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

Bath time is definitely one of Baby C’s favorite times.  And I love it because it’s such a great opportunity to learn while having fun.  We get so excited when we receive new bath toys from Nuby.  The toys help us explore, count, match and so much more.  Our newest toy is the Bath Animals.

The Nuby foam Bath Animals bring underwater creatures to your child’s bath time!  The characters float in the water and when wet will stick to the bathtub wall providing countless hours of bath time fun!  The fun colorful characters will delight and amuse your kids while stimulating their senses.

Because the animals come in pairs, I had Baby C matching the animals as I called them out.  She also got a kick out of sticking the animals to the bathtub wall.

You can purchase the same Bath Animals Baby C has for $7.99 from Amazon.com, echildstore.com, BuyBuyBaby.com, BedBathandBeyond.com and Diapers.com.  Stay connected with Nuby on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram!

Nuby is generously giving away a Bath Animals set to one Sweet Tiny Blessings’ reader.  Simply fill out the Rafflecopter form below to enter.

My Other Job

I am so blessed to be a full time mommy to my sweet Baby C.  I remember when I first became  a mommy, I felt like I wasn’t cut out for the job.  Despite reading all the books while pregnant, it didn’t compare to actually having a child in my arms.  God has certainly guided me in the job he has chosen for me.  And I couldn’t ask for a better one.

But did you know I have another job?  Most of my “career” has been in education.  From director of education at a tutoring center to assistant teaching in classrooms.  After Baby C was born, I started a new “teaching” job.  I partnered with the number one nutrition company in the nation, Shaklee.  I get to learn about my new passion of keeping my family healthy, as well as, encourage and teach others all that I have learned.  And the best part is, I get to do it while working my full time job.

Shaklee has been around for over 56 years.  I share with others the very same products I love and use, including healthy beauty, healthy home, healthy nutrition and healthy weight.  I get to attend conferences where I learn about natural health and testimonies that have saved lives.  And I get to surround myself with people who understand my passion.

Our mission is to provide a healthier life for everyone and a better life for anyone who chooses to join us.  If you are someone who is passionate about healthy living and want to make a living or a little extra money sharing your passion, I invite you to check out The Shaklee Difference and email me to join my team!

I’ve recently been added to the Top 25 Eco-Friendly Moms list of 2013.  I would love your vote if you love my blog.  Just click here to vote.  Voting can be done everyday until May 16th!

What’s is or was your other job?

Little Learning Lovies {Review and Giveaway}

I’m always looking for fun and educational activities to do with Baby C.  So I was thrilled when Sandra, the owner of Little Learning Lovies, contacted me to host a review and giveaway for her online store.  I wrote this post on behalf of Little Learning Lovies and received promotional items to thank me for my time.  All views and opinions regarding the company and products are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

Little Learning Lovies provides education resources for classroom teachers, homeschooling parents and anyone who wants creative and educational activities to do with their children at an affordable price.  There are many choices to choose from in different topics and themes and new resources are constantly being added.  And they even provide free downloads for everyone!

The games are easy to put together and they are usually created for different uses for a variety of age levels.  This makes the games worth keeping.  Each item purchased is available for download right away, making it easy to print and get started.

I received the ABC Dot Worksheets for Baby C to practice her pre-writing skills.  She was so excited to pick out her letter and get started.  Baby C picked the rainbow for her first letter.  There are so many things she learned with this simple activity.  She learned what the letter R looks like, what sound it makes, colors and hand-eye coordination for pre-writing.

Baby C had a blast with her first dot worksheet and can’t wait to learn more letters!  She proudly displayed her work on the refrigerator.  And we’ve gone back to it several times to talk about the sound letter R makes.
Little Learning Lovies allows you to purchase monthly activity packs (Pre-K to 1st grade and 1st – 3rd grade) or choose from a variety of individual learning activities.  Get connected with Little Learning Lovies on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.  You can even follow their blog via email.

Helicopter Parents Hover No More!

Do you remember the feeling you got when you heard about Jessica Ridgeway being abducted?  My heart sank and tears rolled down my face as I listened to the news on the radio.  I vowed never to let my daughter out of my site unless she was with a trusted adult.

Why can’t things be the way used to be when we were kids?  We could play in our front yards and ride our bikes to school without fear.   I couldn’t imagine the pain if I lost Baby C.  So what can we do to keep our children safe?

I recently heard about The Lassy Project and wanted to make sure to pass the information along with every parent who reads my blog.  As a mom, I see and feel the need to have assurance and security that my child is safe.  I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of hovering and worrying.  We install security systems to protect our empty homes, why aren’t we doing this for our kids?

The Lassy Project aims at preventing child abductions by instantly alerting parents when their kids are in trouble and then gives them the ability to mobilize hundreds of neighbors in seconds to help.  All with the simple push of a button!  Take a look at these videos for more information and join my family in The Lassy Project.  It should be our goal to make our communities and neighborhoods as safe as possible for our children.

What’s great about The Lassy Project is the Village.  If you could help find a missing child in your area, would you?  Now you can by joining The Lassy Village.  Parents can press a button and have hundreds of people near by helping to look for their missing child.

Natural Kids

Welcome to the April 2013 Natural Living Blog Carnival: Natural Kids.
This post was written for inclusion in the monthly Natural Living Blog Carnival hosted by Happy Mothering and The Pistachio Project through the Green Moms Network. This month our carnival participants have written posts about how they communicate with their children about natural living and how they implement those changes with their kids.

When my daughter was very young, I knew I had to make healthy changes in my family’s life. For her, living a more natural life style is what she has grown up with.  Since she is a picky eater, our biggest battle is getting her to eat healthy and natural foods.  She rarely eats “junk” food, but with the diet she has, I know she doesn’t get the required nutrients she needs.  To help fill those nutritional gaps, Baby C takes vitamins daily.

We also attend play dates and go out to eat where there isn’t always healthy choices.  I don’t want to deny her of having a special treat while everyone else is.  So, I have to be very careful to keep the unhealthy snacks at a minimum and for special occasions.  Usually, I’ll pack healthy choices to give her options so she doesn’t feel left out.

How do you help your children live naturally?

Nuby Bottle Drying Rack {Review}

I wrote this post on behalf of Nuby and received a promotional item to thank me for my time.  All views and opinions regarding the company and the product are my own and were not influenced by other sources.

Do you have baby bottles piling up in the sink?  Maybe Nuby can help.  Though I don’t have a “baby” anymore, the Nuby Bottle Drying Rack works great for sippy cups too!  My sink is always filled with dishes, cups and pots trying to get dry.  I’m constantly digging through the mess trying to find the right lid to a cup.  The drying rack has really helped me out.

The Nuby Bottle Drying Rack is ideal for all shapes and sizes of bottles, training cups and pacifiers.  Its design requires absolutely no assembly, and holds eight bottles, rings, discs and caps.  The pegs lock into place securely for drying and folds flat for easy storage.  The built-in reservoir holds excess water for less mess draining.  It is definitely made for convenience.
Additionally, a Bottle and Nipple Brush is included in this combo set!  A looped handle on top provides easy hanging to dry and store.  The Nipple Brush conveniently stores inside the ventilated handle when not in use.  Both brushes have soft, durable nylon bristles.  The Bottle Brush even has a sponge tip to clean hard-to-reach areas.
The rack fits perfect in any area of the kitchen.  Mine is placed right near the sink for easy reach.  The brush is a bonus because it helps me get deep down in the cup where my hand and sponge can’t quite do the job.
You can purchase the same drying rack I have for $10.49.  The Nuby Bottle Drying Rack can be purchased at Amazon.com or Idealbaby.com.  Stay connected with Nuby on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram!

My Mommy Confessions

Sometimes, when my husband is home to watch Baby C, I’ll sit in the bathroom a little longer just to have some time to myself.

I rarely let Baby C have sweets, but I keep a stash of chocolate hidden high in the pantry just for me.

I sneak in Baby C’s vitamins in her morning oatmeal.

I let Baby C watch more tv then she probably should, especially on snowy days.

I bribe Baby C with Cheddar Bunnies to get her to leave the park without a scene.

What is your mommy confession?

My Favorite Childhood Memory

I must say, I have a multitude of great memories from childhood.  It’s hard to choose just one.  Some of the best were the sleepovers with friends.  We would stay up all night, play games, eat junk food and laugh until our faces hurt.  We created so many inside jokes that we still tease each other with today (15+ years later).

I can’t wait until my daughter makes those same memories with her friends . . . to hear the squeals, laughter and pure joy come from the living room at wee hours of the night.  My husband jokes that he’ll be investing in boxes of ear plugs.
