Anderson Farms Fall Festival {Events}

 Fall is my favorite season.  The weather is cool and comfortable.  And there is so many fun, family activities you can do at home or attend.  One of our family favorites is picking out our pumpkin at a farm, bringing it home and carving it.

Last Year’s Pumpkin

 This year, for the first time, we will be attending Anderson Farms Fall Festival.  It seems like such an awesome event that includes Colorado’s largest corn maze of 30 acres.  You can take a hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick your favorite pumpkin.  Plus the whole family can enjoy Pumpkin Launching, Mine Cars, Barrel Train, Farm Animals, Kiddie Korral, Pedal Karts, Gem Mining, Private Campfires, Hay Bale Maze and the World’s Largest Cornucopia.  The more adventurous crowd can try out the Terror in the Corn and Zombie Paint Ball Hunt.

Anderson Farms is open daily from September 22 – October 31 and is located at 6728 County Road 3 1/4 • Erie, CO 80516.  You can visit Anderson Farms’ website to get more information.  And don’t forget to print out your coupon for a dollar off admission Monday – Thursday!

I look forward to sharing my families’ first time experience at Anderson Farms Fall Festival!

Do you have a favorite Fall family tradition?
Disclaimer: My family received free admission to Anderson Farms Fall Festival in exchange for this post.  Regardless, I only share information with my readers that I feel they will enjoy and benefit from.

{Encouraging Healthy} Men

Every week I get the privilege to take health courses.  This past week, I listened to a class on men’s health.  You are probably wondering why I would care about men’s health and share it with my readers of mostly women.  Well, because most of us take care of a man in our lives.  Whether it’s your husband, son, father or brother, you probably have a man in your life that you care about and want him to be healthy. And to be honest, much of what I learned could easily apply to women.

The four leading causes of death in men include heart disease, cancer, stroke and diabetes.  All of which are mostly preventable.  One of the main factors that can help prevent these awful diseases (which all can lead to death) is a healthy weight.  No one ever dies of obesity, at least that’s not what the doctors write of the cause of death.  But it’s obesity that can cause all these diseases.

Heart disease is 80% preventable through exercise, healthy diet and not smoking.  And Diabetes is 90% preventable.  1 and 2 adults will be diagnosed with cancer in their life time.  1 in 4 will die in the US.  And Prostate cancer being one of top concerns.

The top 4 health products that can help prevent these diseases and change a man’s life include Soy Protein, Omega-3’s, probiotic, and pure drinking water

Remember when I said these products could apply to both men and women?  Here’s why!  Soy protein helps build muscle, skin and hormones, it supports the immune system, it retains normal cholesterol levels, promotes heart and prostate health and contains soy isoflavones, which can help minimize hot flashes and promote breast health.  Breast cancer runs in my family on my father’s side, so I am all over this protein every morning.

OmegaGuard (Omega3’s) reduces the risk of heart disease, retains healthy triglyceride levels, maintains normal blood pressure and supports brain, eye and joint health.

Optiflora Probiotic Complex supports a healthy immune system by delivering beneficial bacteria in your gastrointestinal tract.

Get Clean Water reduces up to 99% of lead as well as dozens of other contaminants that can turn up in your water and be harmful to your health.

Not all vitamins and health supplements are created equal.  Just look at what the FDA found in these vitamins.  Choose a brand you know you can trust.  Shaklee products – and the quality and science behind them – are unmatched in the industry.  Shaklee conducts over 100,000 tests annually to ensure the safety and efficacy of their products.  All ingredients in Shaklee products are qualified under the incredibly
stringent Shaklee protocol, unique in the industry, which tests for up
to 350 chemical contaminants, including pesticides, herbicides, heavy
metals, solvent residues, etc.  And they are always 100% effective or your money back.

What other company do you know that does that?

Grace {One Thousand Gifts}

Maybe it’s something I missed
but how could they treat me like this?
It’s wearing out my heart
The way they disregard
This is love or this is hate
We all have a choice to make

Oh, Father, won’t you forgive them?
They don’t know what they’ve been doin.
Oh, Father, give me grace to forgive them
’cause I feel like the one losin’.

This song, by Tenth Avenue North, has been one of my favorites ever since it came out.  I think it’s one that plays on my heart because I’ve been on both sides of these lyrics.  I’ve been hurt by those who didn’t mean it (I admit, I have a sensitive heart).  And I’ve unintentionally hurt others without knowing it.

 Do you have a sensitive heart or do you let things roll off your back?

A Rockin’ Week {Insta-Friday}

Our week rocked!  Grammie is still here visiting for another couple of weeks.  Woohoo!  She has been such a great help.  Last weekend, we took her to Garden of the Gods.  This was Baby C’s first time too.  And she loved it!  Of course she did.  She loves rocks.  She is the only kid I know who would probably love to get coal in her Christmas stocking.  Hee hee!  So here is our rockin’ week in review!

Custom Christmas Cards and Tags {Giveaway}

Are you a parent that loves to plan your child’s birthday party?  Me too!  Last year, I created a pink and green Mod Monkey theme, for Baby C’s first birthday.  This year, I was going to do a Minnie Mouse theme, just so I could use Baby C’s 1st Halloween costume again.  But as Baby C’s likes and dislikes have emerged, I decided to go with her favorite character.  With the help of some great sponsors, Baby C will be having a Caillou birthday party!

Ann, from Sweet Pink Designs, generously created a Caillou birthday banner, favor tags and welcome sign for Baby C’s 2nd birthday.  Sweet Pink Designs offers amazing decor and printables to make any party or event special.  And Ann is absolutely wonderful to work with!  To celebrate, Sweet Pink Designs is giving away a custom Christmas Card and Christmas Gift Tags to one Sweet Tiny Blessings’ reader.

I’ll be so excited to share with you Baby C’s 2nd birthday party with Caillou in December, but until then, check out Sweet Pink Designs for all your party needs.  You can connect with Sweet Pink Designs on Facebook, Etsy and Pinterest

Ol’ McDonald Singing Plush Toy {Review}

 Have you heard?  I’m a Nuby Mommy Blogger!  And I’m so excited to share with you all the great products Nuby has to offer.  Nuby is a company that strives towards making the lives of parents and children easy, simple and fun!  So stick around, as I bring to you reviews, product information and giveaways!

Baby C loves farm animals.  We have been practicing the sounds each animal makes and it’s the cutest thing to listen to her.  Baby C was so excited to receive the Ol’ McDonald singing plush toy duck from Nuby.  She has been carrying it around the house, squeezing his tummy and listening to it play the familiar Ol’ McDonald song.

The Ol’ McDonald plush animals are sold separately and include the duck, cow, sheep and pig.  They are great for children ages 3 months and up.  Simply squeeze the tummy and sing along to Old McDonald on the Farm.  These characters are such a great way to learn as your child plays.

I can’t believe how soft this plush toy is.  It isn’t bulky or heavy.  And is gentle enough to sleep with.  The music plays at just the right volume, so it’s not annoying.  I found this one to be fun and engaging.

 Nuby offers a variety of products, including feeding tools, accessories, health and safety and toys available at Nuby.com.  We love our singing plush toy and know that you will, too!  You can purchase the same plush toy as Baby C for $8.99.  And become a fan of Nuby on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram!

Patience {One Thousand Gifts}

Hold On a Little Longer
Good things come to those who wait
Patience is the key to success
Don’t rush God’s plan for you
At times you will get frustrated
But the Lord knows your heart
And His timing is so perfect
Just wait on the Lord
And your strength shall be renewed
Hold a little while longer
He will come through
Wait on the Lord He won’t be long
He has a plan where you belong
Wait on Him
Wait on Him
Wait on Him
Hold on a little longer….

Grammie Visits {Insta-Friday}

We are so excited that Grammie is here, all the way from Florida!  She gets to stay for a whole month.  Baby C gets spoiled and Chad and I get a free babysitter.  Woohoo!

Baby C and I took Grammie to Barnes and Noble where we listened to a story, colored a picture and ate animal crackers.  As Baby C would say, “yum, yum, yum!”

We also took Grammie to the Rec Center.  They have open gym where Baby C can run around and play with anything she wants.  That works out much better for us then being in a structured class.  And she always seems to take a great nap afterwards.

{Encouraging Healthy} Weight Loss

As many of you know, my favorite company is Shaklee.  Not only do I use the products, I trust and believe in them so much, that I share and sell them to my family and friends.  My mother-in-law was the one to introduce me to this company that changed my life.  And today, she is courageously sharing part of her weight loss journey with you, using the Cinch Inch Loss Plan by Shaklee.  Take it away, Sue!

Sue’s Transformation Story
 August 2011

 In December of 2011, I had reached an all time in my weight
of 197 lbs. My body was feeling the effects of the extra weight. Along with
being a Senior Director in Shaklee, I work full time as a hairstylist. I am on
my feet all day and my knees were feeling the stress of the weight. Because of
my busy schedule, I also wasn’t eating well. I took a lot of the Shaklee
supplements and Vivix and it helped, but I knew the extra weight was a big part
of the problem. I also was having a lot of issues with high blood pressure
which was also due to the weight.
In January, I decided to try the Cinch Transformation. One of the biggest
benefits was the drinks and bars kept me full without the sleepiness of a big
lunch and were easy for my on-the-go schedule at work.  As of this date, I have lost 27
lbs., 3in. off my waist,  4in. off my
bust, 2 ½ off my hips, 1 ½ off thighs and arms and am down 2 sizes.  And I can tell it’s the fat because of
how my body is shaping up. I haven’t always been faithful, but even when I mess
up, the weight has slowly gone down.
This current picture is at 169lbs. I have made a commitment to lose another
15lbs by October 31, 2012. I am increasing my exercise because I lost faster
when I did. I feel better than I have in months. My knees aren’t hurting
and the blood pressure has come down consistently.  I will keep you updated on my progress.

Thank you so much, Sue, for sharing your inspiring story.  I’m sure there are many who can relate to you and I hope your story will encourage them to lose weight in a healthy way.  The Shaklee Cinch Transformation Pack is designed for you to keep the muscle you have, burn fat you don’t want, and lose inches you don’t need.  Lose weight and transform your body or your money back.  Currently, Shaklee is offering a special.  Buy 3 months of Cinch . . . get the 4th month free!

Addison’s Story {Pediatric Cancer Awareness}

 Today’s guest post is from my friend, Jaime.  Jaime and I grew up together from grade school through college.  And even played on the softball field together.  Jaime had her baby girl, Addison, just a few months before I had Baby C.  When Baby C and I were sick, Jaime often shared encouragement with me and prayed for my family.  I also turned to her for advice with Baby C, because I knew she had just gone through that stage.  So when I read the devastating news about baby Addison’s cancer, my heart sank.  I could only imagine the heartache and uncertainties that were going through Jaime’s mind.  I wanted to do something, anything, to make it all go away.  Today, Jaime shares her heart with you, in hopes to spread awareness about Pediatric Cancer and save lives.

 When I became a Mom almost 2 years ago, I never thought the word cancer would become a major part of my daughter’s young life.

The
days immediately following our daughter turning 18 months old were some
of the scariest of days and filled with many tears and sleepless
nights. Addison was seen for her routine 18 month checkup on April 13th.
We noted to her pediatrician that her belly always seemed hard, and
bigger but she never appeared in pain or constipated. Addison was seen
on Monday the 16th for an ultrasound and blood work. No less than 1 hr
after the ultrasound was done we received news that they had found a
“significant” tumor in her abdomen.

We were sent to All Children’s
Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL that day and Addison was admitted and
endured numerous scans, tests and procedures. She had a tumor
encompassing almost all of her right kidney, two smaller tumors on her
left kidney, and a few small nodules that had spread to her lungs. Her
tumor was Stage V at diagnosis. She has completed 14 rounds of
chemotherapy, and daily radiation therapy which was 11 days total.
Addison had her right kidney removed along with the large tumor in July
2012.

Post surgery her cancer is now Stage II and she has recovered
well so far. She will continue chemotherapy until October 2012 and have
ongoing CT scans to evaluate her progress. We are so appreciative for
all of the research that has been done to treat her cancer as her
prognosis is very good and there are many survivor’s of Wilms tumor now
in their 30s leading healthy lives. Addison has been an absolute trooper
throughout everything and we have seen her grow into a fun, carefree
and active toddler!

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month
and Addison is being honored on the CURE Childhood Cancer website to
spread awareness and raise funds to support ongoing research and
treatment for all childhood cancers. We have been amazed with the
outpouring of support, love, prayers from so many people near and far.
We hope to honor Addison’s fight against cancer this year and every year
and hope that in the future no child or family has to deal with cancer
ever again.

To donate for the cure, visit CURE Childhood Cancer, today!

Thank you so much for sharing Addison’s story, Jaime.  Our prayers go out to you and your family.  May Addison continue to grow strong and win the fight against childhood cancer.
Please share your encouraging words and prayers for Addison and her family in the comment section below.
