Getting Settled {Insta-Friday}

We moved into our new home a couple of weeks ago.  I really need to take some good pictures and share them with you.  But we are still settling in and learning where places are in our new neighborhood.  We were excited to find out that we had a club house pool.  Unfortunately, it closes this week for the cold season.  But Baby C certainly had a great time!

Grandma sent us a package with this cute hat.  I couldn’t resist creating this photo into an ad for my business.

Everywhere we go, Baby C must have something in her hands.  She looks like she is reading the paper with her breakfast.

I received another package in the mail from my cousin.  She sent me this beautiful cross for my birthday/housewarming gift.  This is a special prayer that our grandparents always had in their home.  Isn’t it beautiful?
Speaking of getting settled, how are you settling in with the new school year?

{Encouraging Healthy} Households

With Baby C’s new found independence, comes more anxiety.  She can climb and reach things that she never could before.  And if I wasn’t a Shaklee MAHMA, I would be worrying about her getting into unsafe and toxic cleaning products.

I learned about Shaklee less than 2 years ago, after giving birth to Baby C.  My mother-in-law introduced me to Vitalizer for women while trying to recover from an E.Coli Infection.  I was a mess emotionally, physically and mentally. Within a week of taking the vitamins, I could see and feel a real difference.  My hair wasn’t falling out anymore and my gut was getting back to normal. In fact, I don’t think I felt that good on the inside, in years.  From then on out, my life has completely changed, for the better.

Before I got sick, I never cared much about natural and organic products.  I thought it was all a bunch of over-priced stuff that probably didn’t work anyway.  And I thought anyone who used them, were probably a little too crunchy for me.  Wow!  I was completely wrong.

Things started to change when I began reading about the Shaklee Get Clean products and all their incredible benefits.  There are no harmful fumes or hazardous chemicals.  So even Baby C helps me clean!

These products save you money too, because they last forever.  Okay, maybe not forever, but for a long time.  I have had this bottle for almost two years.  And it’s still half full.  You want to know the secret?  Shaklee lets you add your own water.  How genius is that?  Just add 1/4 tsp. of Basic H2 Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate to 16 oz of water.  On top of all that, you keep the Earth happy too by eliminating pounds of packaging waste from landfills and reducing greenhouse gas.

You’re probably thinking, “okay, that’s great and all, but does it really work?”  YES!  Shaklee Get Clean outperforms 20 national leading brands.  I just don’t think it gets any better then that.  But don’t take my word for it.  Shaklee is used by the White House, as well as, featured on Oprah and Rachael Ray.  Check out what your favorite celebrities are saying about Shaklee, too!

I am passionate about encouraging healthy living.  If you have any questions about Shaklee products or want to learn more about the opportunity to change lives, I’d love to help!

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to cleaning?

Protection {One Thousand Gifts}

Baby C is afraid of loud noises.  It started after daddy accidentally tipped the vacuum over next to her.  It didn’t hurt her or even touch her, but it scared her.  She very much dislikes the vacuum and gets a scared look on her face when I turn on the blender.  When she hears any kind of loud noise, she runs to me for protection.  I hold her in my arms, letting her know that it’s okay and that I won’t let it hurt her.  I cover her with kisses and comfort her fears.  Isn’t that how our Heavenly Father works in our lives?  When we are fearful, scared or upset, we run to Him for protection and comfort.  He is always there to cover us in His love and comforting arms.

The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is
the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread? When evildoers came upon me
to devour my flesh, My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and
fell. Though a host encamp against me, My heart will not fear; Though
war arise against me, In spite of this I shall be confident. Psalm 27:1-3

How has our Heavenly Father comforted and protected you lately?

Rest In Peace Izzy

Our precious doggy passed away this morning.  She wasn’t very old at all.  But God knew it was her time.  I’m crying just thinking about all the comfort she provided me when my husband was overseas.  She loved everyone and every dog.  And her personality was so spunky and lovable (which reminds me a lot of my daughter).

Izzy hadn’t lived with us in almost two years.  My mom and step-dad started taking care of her while I believed I couldn’t handle a new baby and a doggy at the same time.  My parent’s have been so gracious and generous.  Giving her the love and attention she certainly needed.  They potty trained her, took her for walks and even play-dates at the doggie beach.  I am forever grateful for the love and care they provided for Izzy.

Baby C and Izzy
I love you my Izzle Dizzle!  Rest in peace sweet girl.  Thanks for all the memories, laughs, kisses and comforts.  You will be forever missed!

I originally started blogging as therapy when my daughter and I experienced some unexpected challenges after she was born.  Since then, I have been blessed with so many exciting opportunities on my blog, from making friends and encouraging one another, to sharing my favorite products and living a healthier life.

For those readers who have been around for a while, I bet you have noticed some changes.  I just received a brand spanking new blog design with all the trimmings.  It was tough to leave my old blog design behind, but I needed to move forward and get organized.  So I reached out to Lilipop Designs for help.

I connected with Lilipop Designs through her Etsy Shop and immediately fell in love with her designs.  After reaching out for help, her response was immediate, friendly and ready to work.  She directed me to a form where I answered important questions that would help her build the perfect design for me.  Jessica worked with me until I was completely satisfied with all the design elements.  She is patient and her customer service is top notch.  I would recommend Lilipop Designs to anyone.

Lilipop Designs has fabulous packages, premade templates and a la carte designs  for you to choose from.  She also offers social networking designs, blogger assistance and support, and file storage at a reasonable price.  Jessica is the author of Lilipop Designs blog where she shares her blog designs, portfolio and tutorials.  You can also find her at boys Oh boys where she writes about life, family, fun, and her creative designs.  Jessica features product reviews, deals, contests and giveaways, too!

Natural Newborn Giveaway Hop

Part of the fun of having a baby is creating a special place for them, their nursery.  And your baby will probably spend a large amount of time sleeping in it.  It’s important to create a safe and toxic-free environment for them, since their body’s are still growing and their systems are more vulnerable to potentially toxic substances.

When it comes to crib sheets, the first thing to guard against is anything that says, “wrinkle-resistant” or “no ironing required.”  These are treated with formaldehyde resin and it’s baked on so it lasts.  I wouldn’t want to sleep on formaldehyde and I wouldn’t want my child to, either.  The solution?  Organic cotton bedding.

Naturepedic understands the harm that can come from toxic chemicals and is dedicated in providing the highest quality products that eliminate these risks.  They believe that a safe and healthy environment is essential for your child.  Naturepedic carefully selects materials that are organic, hypoallergenic and free from harmful chemicals.
We received the Naturepedic organic cotton white crib sheet for Baby C’s crib.  It is made of 100% organically grown cotton, 250 thread count sateen and a fitted design that provides a secure fit.
This is the softest and silkiest crib sheet I have ever felt.  And Baby C was quite comfy as I laid her down for a nap on her new sheet.  I secretly wanted to crawl in with her for a little snooze.
Naturepedic offers a variety of other products for the whole family, including mattresses, pillows, and changing pads available at Naturepedic.com.  We love Naturepedic and know that you will too!  You can purchase the same crib sheets Baby C has in ivory, flannel or white for $29.  We are also a fan of nNaturepedic on Facebook and Twitter.

Back-To-School Prayer

There are three times a year that are always a fresh start for me.  They include the obvious, New Years, Easter and the beginning of the school year.  Baby C isn’t yet old enough to attend school, but as a former teacher (and student), I can appreciate the excitement and new beginning.  So as the new school year begins, I thought it was important to pray for all students, teachers and even parents, to have a successful school year.

Dear Jesus,

Please bless all children in this new school year.  Give them strength to learn, concentrate and act in love towards their classmates.  Watch over them at home and at school.  When days become challenging, grant them peace and relaxation, knowing that Your patience, wisdom and courage is excellent in every way.  Guide them in their mind, thoughts and body so they may use the knowledge gained to build your kingdom.  We thank you for this new school year and ask that you bless the students, families and faculty that make school such a wonderful place.

In your name we pray!
Amen

I hope everyone has a happy and healthy school year!  I can’t wait to hear all the blessings this school year will provide!
